Boerne Pediatrics was founded to provide a high quality medical home to the infants, children and adolescents of the area. The practice is committed to offering compassionate, efficient and quality care in a patient friendly environment. The American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines are followed for recommended immunizations, growth and development monitoring.
Dr. Sheralyn Wood
Dr. Sheralyn Wood is an experienced, knowledgeable provider in practice for over 18 years with the last 10 years dedicated to the care of the children in Boerne. She trained in Texas and has worked in private practice, hospital care and academic medicine. Dr. Wood is a veteran of the USAF, feeling privileged to have cared for the children of active duty servicemen and women. She is married with 3 children and enjoys being at the lake, playing sports or any outdoor activity! From the newborn up to preparing for college, children are unique in their development and illnesses. Dr. Wood believes that it is an honor to be entrusted with the care of her patients and she enjoys developing a working relationship with families to help each child thrive and reach their full potential.
Dr. Kathryn Buck
Dr. Kathryn Buck joined Boerne Pediatrics in the summer of 2012. She received her B.A. from Austin College in Sherman, Texas and received her Medical Degree with honors from UTMB - Galveston in 1986. Upon completion, she began her Pediatric Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she served as Chief Resident.
Earning her board certification in both pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, Dr. Buck spent most of her career working in pediatric emergency care. As a longtime resident of Boerne, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 4 adult kids, and Mango, her rambunctious doxy mix.
Dr. Buck has been involved in hospital committees, state policy committees, and volunteering. One of her greatest passions is medical mission work in Africa. She remains dedicated to high quality health maintenance and acute care for children and adolescents.
Dr. Rachel Gravel
Dr. Rachel Gravel is a board certified pediatrician and joined Boerne Pediatrics in 2015. She grew up in San Antonio and attended college at Troy State University, where she played collegiate volleyball and obtained her B.S. with honors. She received her medical degree in 2004 at UT Health Science Center San Antonio and remained in San Antonio for her residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. She served in the United States Army as a Pediatrician for 7 years in Columbus, GA and San Antonio. She was active in the SAMMC Pediatric Residency over the last 2 years on several committees and faculty at UT Health Science Center San Antonio Medical School and Uniformed Services University of the Heath Sciences. Dr. Gravel is dedicated to providing high quality, evidence-based care and providing a medical home for families from newborn through adolescence.
Boerne is home to Dr. Gravel, her husband Paul, and their 3 daughters. She enjoys being active in her church community, sewing, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
